WAITING

Waiting for you is forever
when you let go of my hand
I fell down the cliff
past the jugged stones
a descent punctuated by
thorny shrubs yet
cushioned on my landing
thick moss on a stone
the clear blue sky my canopy
and I wait knowing not if
you are peering down the cliff
in urgency or safely
navigating a definite
path tailored
by and only for you
yet I wait
brazes, bruises and
beads of sweat
and I wait …
